Combined Driving competition has been held in the Southern Pines, N.C. area for many years. It started in the early 90s at Yellow Frame Farm in the heart of Southern Pines horse country. It later moved to Stoneybrook Farm and the obstacles were scattered around the horse community.
In 2007, under a new organizing committee, the event moved to the Carolina Horse Park in nearby Raeford, N.C. The Carolina Horse Park has proven to be an ideal location for combined driving. Excellent permanent stabling, wonderful footing, ample warm up and exercise areas are just a few of the reasons that drivers love to compete here.
Southern Pines CDE the favorite event for many competitors. Classes for Training Level through Advanced Level bring drivers from all over the U.S. USEF National Championships have been held for Single Horses and Ponies, as well as the American Driving Society’s North American Intermediate Championship in 2015.
